~NEW NEWS~

PSD students, staff, and families!  Join in the fun!  National Walk or Bike to School and Work Day is Oct. 12, 2022!

As part of the Petersburg Medical Center’s “Healthy Community Series” the Wellness Department is hosting a community Walk and Bike to School or Work Day on October 12th.

- Volunteer crossing guards will be stationed at various intersections from 7:40 to 8:15am in town to assist participants in getting to school/work safely.

- All bikers are reminded to wear their properly fitting helmet and bright colors and to ride in the same direction as traffic.

-Walkers should also wear clothing that is bright and easily seen, but walkers should be on the left-hand side of the road so you can see traffic coming towards you.

We look forward to seeing the community be active before settling in for their school or work day and thank drivers for their extra caution on the morning of the 12th.

Please feel free to share this post and spread the word!

Please join us for our next meeting on Thursday, October 13th 4pm in the Stedman Library.

~News From Stedman Elementary Library~

Mrs. Lenhard is our Stedman librarian this year!

We have had a wonderful start to the year with all grade levels visiting the library twice a week.  We have reviewed how to choose a Good Fit Book,  where different types of books are located in the library, and how to care for our books.  Students can generally have the same number of books as their grade level checked out at one time, and books can be kept for up to 2 weeks.  Once a student is finished with a book, be sure to return it so the next person can check it out.  Happy reading!  Stedman Library Website: https://sites.google.com/pcsd....

~News From the Counselor~

Newsletter from our Counselor. Mrs. Etcher works with all grades on social emotional skills, and she would like to share a monthly newsletter with families. The idea is to keep everyone updated on lessons she is teaching each month.

~Safety Information~

Important safety information: When dropping students off at the playground end, please note that there is a designated drop-off area marked by the side of the playground fence and green cones. Vehicles enter the area following the arrows and drop off students between the cones and the fence. Students go directly to either the cafeteria for breakfast or one of the two front entrances. Vehicles immediately drive through and exit, alleviating congestion and keeping the area safe. If you wish to escort your child or wait and watch your child enter the school, you will need to find a parking spot. Thank you for helping us keep all students safe.

~Happy Birthday to Who?~
