🦅 PETERSBURG CONFIDENT CHALLENGE — DAY 2: TRY NEW THINGS!
This week, Stedman students are learning about being CONFIDENT, and we’re challenging all of Petersburg to join us!
TODAY’S CHALLENGE: Encourage a student to step up to a new challenge, even if it feels a little scary. Try encouraging them with:
■ “It’s okay to feel nervous, let’s try it anyway!”
■ “I believe you can handle this new challenge.”
■ “Trying something new helps our brains grow stronger.”
True confidence isn't about never being afraid, it is about taking that step even when things feel uncertain.

🦅 PETERSBURG CONFIDENT CHALLENGE — DAY 1: TAKE CHARGE!
This week, Stedman students are learning about being CONFIDENT, and we’re challenging all of Petersburg to join us!
TODAY’S CHALLENGE: Help a student take ownership of their day and choices. Try asking or reminding them:
■ “What is your goal for today?”
■ “You are in charge of what you learn and do!”
■ “How are you going to show your best self today?”
Confidence grows when we realize we have the power to direct our own learning and actions.

🦅 PETERSBURG OPEN-MINDED CHALLENGE — WEEKEND WRAP-UP!
That is a wrap on our Open-Minded week! Our Stedman Eagles spent the week practicing curiosity, wondering about the world, and asking great questions.
PETERSBURG COMMUNITY FOCUS: This weekend, keep an eye out for open-mindedness in action! Whether you are visiting a local shop, walking down by the harbor, or chatting with a neighbor, notice how our community listens, learns, and stays curious together.
Thank you for unlocking your minds with us. Get ready to rock a brand-new ROCC trait on Monday!

🦅 PETERSBURG OPEN-MINDED CHALLENGE — DAY 3: I ASK QUESTIONS!
This week, Stedman students are learning about being OPEN-MINDED, and we’re challenging all of Petersburg to join us!
TODAY’S CHALLENGE: Ask someone a question to understand their perspective or a topic you don't know much about. Try:
■ “What is your favorite family tradition?”
■ “How did you learn how to do that?”
■ “Can you tell me more about your hobby?”
Asking questions builds bridges and helps us understand and appreciate everyone in our community.

🦅 PETERSBURG OPEN-MINDED CHALLENGE — DAY 2: I WONDER!
This week, Stedman students are learning about being OPEN-MINDED, and we’re challenging all of Petersburg to join us!
TODAY’S CHALLENGE: Look at the world around you and wonder about something out loud with a student. Try:
■ “I wonder how that machine works?”
■ “I wonder why the leaves change color now?”
■ “I wonder what it’s like to live in a different place?”
Wondering opens our minds to new possibilities and keeps us learning every single day.

All Petersburg School District students will be offered FREE breakfast and lunch for the 2026-27 school year. This is based on our Community Eligibility Program status. Our food service staff works hard to produce healthy, balanced, and tasty meals that students enjoy. They utilize scratch-made and local foods as often as possible and reasonable. The department even grows its own food in partnership with the Farm to School grant they were awarded over the past two years through the garden and hydroponic system. Want to join your kiddo for lunch this year? Check in with the school office before attending. Adult meals offered for $8.
We are hiring! Join us this school year; we have various open positions. Benefits include paid time off, PERS retirement, and access to health insurance. Some positions offer flexible scheduling. Find more information and apply at https://jobs.aerrc.org/jobs/?q=petersburg
